As the end of the MLB regular season approaches, so does the beginning of awards season.
One of the more prestigious awards could land in the hands of a New York Mets pitcher for the second year in a row. After winning the 2018 National League Cy Young Award, right-hander Jacob deGrom is once again in the running this season. Not to mention, manager Mickey Callaway believes deGrom should win it without question.
Through 27 starts this year, deGrom is posting a record of 8-8 with an 2.66 ERA and a 1.024 WHIP. He’s walked 39 batters and has struck out 214 in 169.0 innings pitched.
