The Giants and rookie quarterback Daniel Jones suffered their second consecutive defeat, losing to the New England Patriots 35-14.
Jones, who only started in his fourth career game, had arguably his worst performance. He only completed 15 of his 31 throws for 161 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. After the loss, he addressed his play to reporters, realizing it wasn’t his greatest performance.
“I don’t think so,” Jones said when asked if playing in the hostile environment of Gillette Stadium was overwhelming. “I didn’t play well by any means. I don’t mean to confuse that but I don’t think it was overwhelming, I think it was just bad plays and bad decisions.”
Jones now has 921 passing yards on the season with five touchdowns and six interceptions. After starting out 2-0 as a starter with wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Redskins, he’s fallen to .500 at 2-2.
